Welcome to The Mexican Table

There’s a fire burning, the grill is hot, and somewhere nearby, something good is cooking.

The Mexican Table is a journey into the heart of Mexican cooking—where recipes are built on tradition, flavor, fire, and a little bit of patience.

This isn’t about complicated kitchens or chasing the latest food trend. It’s about the food people have been cooking for generations. Smoky meats. Fresh salsas. Handmade tortillas. Slow-cooked dishes. Big flavors. Simple ingredients.

We cook outdoors, over real fire, with a little ranchero spirit and a whole lot of respect for the food.

So grab a cold drink, pull up a chair, and stay awhile.

Around here, the food is Mexican, the fire is hot, and the table is always open.

The Story

Tacos! It all started with tacos.

Well, kinda…

My maternal grandfather was hispanic, and that meant I was exposed to authentic Mexican food from an early age. As I got older, I developed an appreciation for the opportunity to soak up all that is the culture of authentic Mexican food, and as an adult I gravitated to the street food scene, especially street tacos. This grew into an obsession. Eventually, I wondered if I could make tacos at my house as good as the ones from the taco trucks I was hitting on a weekly basis. That eventually evolved into me learning more and leaning into authentic Mexican dishes. Not the ever prevalent “Tex-Mex” dishes, but dishes prepared using the old-school ways and with fresh ingredients.

And so, here we are. A place where I can post a collective of the dishes that I create and how I create them. A place where I can pay homage to my grandfather and his love of great food.
